Ideate

ID8 (“Ideate”) is a two-building, six-story project with nearly half a million square feet of purpose-built Class A research and development lab space. Located at the intersection of Old County Road and Quarry Road on the north side of San Carlos, the sprawling campus-like setting offers a haven for tenants and an oasis for the wider community, with more amenities than any West Coast commercial development outside of Meta and Google.

This tech-enabled campus features an onsite public park, numerous walking trails, a creek beautification project, community botanical gardens, bocce and pickleball courts, and outdoor amphitheater seating. Other amenities include indoor and outdoor gyms, two rooftop decks with gourmet kitchens, a resort-style bar/cafe/lounge, a fleet of eBikes, and a 4,000 square foot childcare facility. An extensive public art program with exterior sculptures will serve as the starting point for a newly introduced San Carlos art walk. ID8 also offers easy access to Highway 101 and the Belmont Caltrain Station, making for convenient commutes, and a parking structure with more than 900 stalls.

ID8 is the anchor of the Northeast Area Specific Plan, home to some 1,500 employees, and helps extend the nearby East Side Innovation District. During the initial Entitlement Review, the project was recognized by San Carlos for its extensive community benefits and public amenity package. Construction is slated to begin in February 2023.
